Four deposits of A$25 or more can earn up to A$4,000 plus 150 free spins in the Lucky Mate casino bonus, and x40 applies to the bonus amount alone. Put A$100 in at step one and the casino adds A$150 plus the Mustang Gold spins. That bonus stays locked until you’ve pushed A$6,000 through the pokies.
The rest of the page puts every step into Australian dollars, covering the deposit that reaches each cap, what x40 costs in theory and which rules cancel a bonus. We’d sum it up like this: step one stretches a deposit, and it’s only worth claiming if you’d happily spin A$6,000 anyway.
Every figure was taken from the archived copy of the operator’s site (19 May 2026) and checked in October 2026. One caveat before the maths. Lucky Mate is offshore and holds no Australian licence; the licence number in its footer belongs to a Curaçao master licence that expired on 18 August 2024, and the ACMA’s block on the brand was announced on 13 February 2026. Our Lucky Mate Casino Australia review deals with the licence in full.
The four deposits at a glance
There are four deposit bonuses in the package. Every one of them needs at least A$25 and tops out at A$1,000 of bonus money, with the same x40 wagering across the board. Free spins come with the first deposit only.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st deposit | 150% | A$1,000 | 150 on Mustang Gold (Pragmatic Play) | A$25 | x40 | A$6,000 |
| 2nd deposit | 100% | A$1,000 | None | A$25 | x40 | A$4,000 |
| 3rd deposit | 100% | A$1,000 | None | A$25 | x40 | A$4,000 |

Steps two to four carry an extra phrase in the operator’s wording: a “maximum withdrawal limit” of A$1,000. Our reading is up to A$1,000 of bonus per step. The same words could just as easily cap what those bonuses let you cash out, so check the cashier terms before confirming; a worked example follows further down.
Claim 150% + 150 FSFree spins: 100 last year, 150 now
Back in 2025, archived versions of the offer gave 100 free spins on the first deposit. By May 2026 that had grown to 150, still on Mustang Gold (96.53% RTP according to Pragmatic Play). Nowhere is it spelled out how spin winnings get credited, so our working assumption is bonus funds carrying the match’s x40 until the cashier says something different.
How x40 wagering works at Lucky Mate
Lucky Mate writes its formula as Bonus Amount × Wager, which means the multiplier applies to the bonus and nothing else. A A$150 bonus at x40 needs A$6,000 in total bets, and the A$100 you deposited stays out of the calculation.
Until the wagering is complete, the money sits in a separate bonus balance that you can play on pokies but can’t withdraw. Slot bets are the only ones that move the counter. Open a live game and the bonus is deleted outright.
Turnover for each deposit size
To reach the A$1,000 cap you need A$667 on the 150% steps (A$1,000 ÷ 1.5, rounded up) and A$1,000 on the 100% steps. Anything above that earns no extra bonus.
| Step type | Deposit | Bonus | Wagering (bonus × 40) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Step 1 or 4 (150%) | A$25 | A$37.50 | A$1,500 |
| Step 1 or 4 (150%) | A$100 | A$150 | A$6,000 |
| Step 1 or 4 (150%) | A$667 | A$1,000 (cap) | A$40,000 |
| Step 2 or 3 (100%) | A$25 | A$25 | A$1,000 |
| Step 2 or 3 (100%) | A$100 | A$100 | A$4,000 |
| Step 2 or 3 (100%) | A$1,000 | A$1,000 (cap) | A$40,000 |
The whole package, three ways
| Plan | Total deposits | Total bonus | Total wagering |
|---|---|---|---|
| A$25 at every step | A$100 | A$125 | A$5,000 |
| A$100 at every step | A$400 | A$500 | A$20,000 |
| The cap at every step | A$3,334 | A$4,000 | A$160,000 |
A$4,000 is the number on the banner; clearing all of it takes A$160,000 of pokies bets. Realistically, most players should aim at step one, perhaps step two, with a deposit they’d make anyway.

x40, x30 or x45: three numbers in circulation
The operator contradicts itself here. Its FAQ illustrates wagering with a A$25 bonus × 30 = A$750, yet the welcome table gives x40 for every step. Since the table is the term attached to this package, x40 is what we calculate with. Should the cashier show a different multiplier when you claim, go by the cashier and take a screenshot.
A Trustpilot complaint quotes x45 and says extra wagering was added because the winnings landed inside a bonus session. The operator’s own page says x40, and we found nothing published that sets x45. What the complaint does confirm is the mechanism: winnings made with a bonus running stay attached to that bonus until its wagering is finished.
What x40 costs in theory
Over the long run every pokie keeps a slice of each bet, equal to 100% minus the RTP. Multiply that slice by the turnover and you have the theoretical cost of clearing a bonus. For the A$150 bonus on a A$100 first deposit, that’s A$6,000 × (100% − RTP).
The break-even RTP for x40 is 97.5% (1 − 1/40). None of the official Pragmatic Play figures we checked reach it. Caishen’s Gold, the highest at 97.08%, still averages A$175.20 against a A$150 bonus, and Wolf Gold at 96.01% averages A$239.40.
A$6,000 turnover: theory
The gap widens at the top of a step. Clearing a A$1,000 bonus means A$40,000 of turnover, and at Mustang Gold’s 96.53% that averages A$1,388, more than the bonus is worth.
These are long-run averages. A single session can end well ahead or go bust in twenty minutes. What the bonus gives you is more spins from the same deposit, with the odds left exactly where they were. If you take it, pick higher-RTP titles from the pokies that clear wagering and open each game’s info panel first, since casinos can run different RTP settings.

Five rules that wipe the bonus or cost you money
Five clauses in the terms either cancel a bonus or take money off a withdrawal, and some of them wipe your wagering progress as well.
| Trigger | What happens | How to avoid it |
|---|---|---|
| Withdrawal request before wagering is complete | The bonus is cancelled, along with all non-wagered bonuses | Finish the x40 first, or accept that clicking withdraw forfeits the bonus |
| Balance falls to zero | The bonus is cancelled | Size your bets so the wagering target is realistic for your balance |
| Any game in the Live section | All active bonuses are deleted; live bets don’t count towards wagering or cashback | Clear the bonus on pokies before you open a live table |
| Withdrawing after betting less than your deposit | An “extra commission” is charged; the Australian rate isn’t published (the operator’s 2023 template said 30%) | Bet at least your deposit amount once before withdrawing |
| Cashback still in the account at withdrawal | Cashback is deleted on the withdrawal request | Treat unwagered cashback as gone once you ask for a payout |
The live-table trap, in numbers
Here’s how that rule plays out, worked from the operator’s published terms. You deposit A$100 at step one, take the A$150 bonus and get through A$2,000 of the A$6,000 wagering on pokies. Then you open Monaco Blackjack 2 for one hand. Because any Live play deletes all active bonuses, the A$150 and the A$2,000 of progress disappear, and the hand itself added nothing to the wagering. After the wagering is cleared, live play is fine; the lobby is covered in our guide to live dealer tables.
Extra commission when turnover is below your deposit
Run the same rules on a smaller mistake. You deposit A$100, bet A$60 in total and then request a withdrawal. With turnover below the deposit, the terms let the operator charge an “extra commission” on that payout. No rate is published for Australia, though the operator’s 2023 template put it at 30%. To avoid it, bet your deposit at least once (A$100 of bets on a A$100 deposit) before withdrawing. Weekly limits and verification come after that, and our guide to cashing out bonus winnings goes through both.
The A$1,000 withdrawal wording on steps 2–4
Now step two, again worked from the published rules: a A$100 deposit, A$100 of bonus, A$4,000 wagered. If the “maximum withdrawal limit” wording applies per step, whatever that bonus produces could be capped at A$1,000 when you cash out. The cap is never explained. Read the cashier terms before confirming steps two to four, and if they say nothing, ask support and keep the answer.

What Lucky Mate hasn’t published for Australia
Several terms that usually decide whether a bonus is worth having are missing from the Australian pages we checked, and we won’t fill the gaps with guesses.
| Term | Status for Australian accounts | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| Time limit to clear wagering | Not published | Bonus card in the cashier, or live chat before you deposit |
| Maximum bet while a bonus is active | Not published | Same: ask before you deposit |
| Contribution by game | Published only as “slots only”; no per-game percentages | Stick to pokies and ask whether any titles are excluded |
| Maximum cash-out from the bonus | Only the A$1,000 wording on steps 2–4 | Read the bonus card before confirming the deposit |
| Extra commission rate | Not published (2023 template: 30%) | The cashier shows it at withdrawal |
Live chat is the fastest way to fill those gaps. It’s open 16:00–10:00 GMT+11 daily (13:00 to 07:00 in Perth). Put the question in writing, then screenshot the chat alongside the bonus card. Should a dispute follow, that screenshot is the only record you’ll have, and against an offshore operator there’s little an Australian regulator can do.
How to claim the welcome bonus without tripping a rule
- Open the account in your own name. Payouts can only go to a same-country account whose name matches yours. Sign-up itself is covered in our guide to registering a Lucky Mate account.
- Pick a method and send at least A$25. PayID will take around A$20, which falls short of the A$25 the bonus asks for. Transfer the exact figure, leave “casino” out of the payment description and give it up to an hour. Compare deposit methods at Lucky Mate first.
- Leave the promo code field empty. There’s no public code, and the qualifying deposit switches the bonus on by itself. Personal codes, when they exist, arrive by email.
- Read the bonus card before you confirm. Look for the multiplier, any expiry, any max bet and any withdrawal cap. Screenshot it.
- Play pokies only until the counter hits zero. No live games, not even one hand.
- Bet at least your deposit once before any withdrawal. That keeps the extra commission off your payout.
- Get KYC ready early. You’ll need a photo of yourself holding your ID, an ID with six or more months before expiry, and a PDF bank statement for the last three months that shows your name, address and at least three transactions.

Lucky Mate in Australia vs LuckyMate in the UK
MATE50, or an offer of 50 spins on Big Bass Splash, comes from the British LuckyMate site. That’s luckymate.co.uk, which belongs to a different, UK-licensed company, and neither its MATE50 code nor those spins will do anything in the Australian cashier.
| Lucky Mate (Australia) | LuckyMate (UK) | |
|---|---|---|
| Website | luckymate.co.com | luckymate.co.uk |
| Company | BrillianteFin Development N.V. | A separate UK-licensed company |
| Currency | AUD | Pounds (£) |
| Welcome offer | Up to A$4,000 + 150 free spins over four deposits | 50 spins on Big Bass Splash |
| Code | None public; personal codes by email | MATE50 |
| Products | Casino only, no sportsbook | Casino and sports |
Search results blur the two together, and the currency is the quickest tell: anything quoted in pounds is the UK offer. Codes for Australian accounts and the payout of the 150 free spins are on our Lucky Mate promo code page.
Cashback as the alternative
Lucky Mate also advertises cashback of up to 15%, which is advertised as bonus money. Only real-money bets on slots count towards it, so neither bonus play nor live bets feed it, and the terms are set for each player individually.
For anyone who’d rather not have A$6,000 of turnover hanging over a A$100 deposit, cashback is the gentler deal. It rewards play with your own balance and hands back part of what the pokies kept. Rates rise with loyalty level, Bronze through Diamond; the formula is worked through in Lucky Mate cashback and loyalty.
Who the bonus suits, and who should skip it
Take it if
- You play pokies only and would spin A$1,500 to A$6,000 anyway
- You deposit A$25 to A$100 and want longer sessions from it
- You'll read and screenshot the cashier terms first
- You can live with KYC checks and a A$5,000 weekly withdrawal limit
Skip it if
- You want live blackjack or roulette in the same session
- You may want your money back within a day or two
- A$6,000 of spins is more than you'd normally play
- You plan to chase the full A$4,000 with A$3,334 of deposits
How we’d play it depends on the deposit. At A$25, step one is the only part worth chasing, and it buys A$37.50 of extra play for A$1,500 of turnover. A$100 per step gets you A$500 of bonus for A$20,000 of spins, which is heaps of play for a regular and a long grind for someone who plays once a month. Going for the cap at every step means A$160,000 of turnover. Since no official RTP we found reaches 97.5%, each capped step costs more in theory than the A$1,000 it pays.
Passing on the bonus is a perfectly reasonable choice, especially if A$6,000 of spins would be well beyond your usual play. Set a deposit or loss limit in your account instead, and use a time-out or self-exclusion if you need a longer break; Lucky Mate has both. The casino accepts players aged 18+ only. If a wagering target starts to feel like a job you have to finish, Gambling Help Online picks up on 1800 858 858 whatever the time.

Lucky Mate bonus questions
Do crash games like Plinko count towards the wagering?
Don’t count on it. Wagering is slots-only under the operator’s rules, and Plinko (Stake) and Chicken Road (InOut) are filed under Crash and Instant rather than with the pokies. No contribution rate is published for either, so assume those bets leave the counter where it was. Keep crash games for your own balance once the x40 is finished, and check with live chat if you’re unsure about a particular title.
Do I pay tax on winnings from a Lucky Mate bonus?
For recreational players in Australia, gambling winnings generally aren’t treated as taxable income, although the position can differ where gambling is carried on as a business. Treat this as general information rather than tax advice. On the practical side, bonus money only becomes withdrawable once the x40 is complete, and payouts are then capped at A$5,000 a week and A$15,000 a month.
