1. What this policy covers
lucky-mate-australia.com (“we”, “us”) relies on very few cookies and similar technologies. This Cookie Policy names each one, gives the reason it is there and shows how you can control it. It covers all our pages, the Lucky Mate homepage included. Our wider handling of personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
2. Cookies and local storage in plain terms
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Local storage does a similar job without leaving the browser. The site reads it with JavaScript, it does not travel to the server with every request, and it has no expiry date of its own.
A cookie set by the site shown in your address bar is a first-party cookie; one set by another service loading on the same page is a third-party cookie.
3. What we use
Below is every cookie and storage entry that can appear during a visit to our site.
| Name | Set by | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sph_cookie_ok (local storage) | lucky-mate-australia.com | Essential | Records that you clicked “Got it” on the cookie notice (value 1), so the notice does not come back | Until you clear site data |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Essential (security) | Helps tell real visitors from automated bots | Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Essential (security) | Stores proof that you passed a security check; set only if a check was shown | 30 minutes by default |
| Analytics cookie | Our analytics tool, where enabled | Analytics | Counts visits and pages viewed across sessions | Up to 13 months |
| wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wordpress_test_cookie | lucky-mate-australia.com | Essential (editors only) | Keep our editors signed in to the admin area; readers never receive these | Until the editor logs out or the login expires |
There are no advertising cookies, social media pixels or retargeting tags here, and no cookie on this site is used to follow you across other websites.
4. Essential cookies and analytics
Essential cookies
Without essential cookies the site could not stay available and secure. Cloudflare sits in front of our server and filters traffic before it reaches us; its cookies let it recognise a visitor who has already passed a check, which spares you a challenge on every page. They do not identify you by name, and we have no way to switch them off from our side. Block them, and the site may show a security check more often or fail to load.
Analytics
Analytics show us which guides readers open and which pages are due for an update. What we look at is totals, for example the number of visits to the payments guide in a month, and not individual readers. Any analytics tool that stores cookies appears in the table above once it is enabled, and blocking analytics cookies in your browser leaves the site working as normal.
5. Third-party services: Google Fonts and the casino site
The site’s typefaces come from Google’s servers at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. According to Google’s Fonts FAQ, visitors do not send cookies to the Google Fonts API. As with any web request, though, your browser still passes Google your IP address, browser details and the address of the page requesting the font.
Clicking through to the Lucky Mate casino, or to any other external site, means leaving ours. From there, that site sets cookies under its own policy, and we can neither control them nor see them.
6. How the cookie notice works
First-time visitors see a notice at the bottom of the screen explaining that we use essential cookies and simple analytics. Clicking “Got it” hides it and saves the key sph_cookie_ok, with the value 1, in your browser’s local storage. Because the key never expires, the notice stays hidden until you clear your browsing data. A browser that blocks local storage, as some private browsing modes do, will show the notice on every visit.
The notice only informs. Clicking “Got it” switches no cookie on or off; cookies are controlled through your browser settings, as described below.
7. How to control cookies in your browser
Browsers let you delete stored cookies and site data whenever you like, block cookies altogether or clear data for a single site. Clearing data for lucky-mate-australia.com removes the sph_cookie_ok key as well, so the notice returns on your next visit.
Chrome
On a computer, open the three-dot menu, choose Delete browsing data, tick Cookies and other site data and confirm. To remove data for one site, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies > See all site data and permissions, search for the site and delete it.
Safari
On a Mac, choose Safari > Settings > Privacy and click Manage Website Data to remove data for one site or for all sites. The Block all cookies option sits in Safari’s Privacy or Advanced settings, depending on your macOS version. On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced > Website Data and tap Remove All Website Data (on older iOS versions the path starts at Settings > Safari).
Firefox
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security and scroll down to Cookies and Site Data. Click Manage Data to search for a site and remove its data, or Clear Data to remove everything. For stricter blocking, use the Enhanced Tracking Protection options on the same page.
Edge
Open Settings and more > Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Cookies. Select See all cookies and site data, search for the site and delete its data. The same Cookies screen has a switch to block third-party cookies.
8. Changes and contact
Whenever we add, remove or change a cookie, the table in section 3 is updated before the change goes live, and the page date records when this policy was last changed. Send questions about cookies to [email protected].
